In episode 10, we started a design project by creating the Overall Function and Sub-Functions for a clever plastic bottle cap design.

Today we're going to continue with that example, to the next step in the process, creating the Functional Map.

The Functional Map is a powerful representation of our system, and how it works within our user’s system. We use it for brainstorming solutions and failure modes in the Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.
